By exceeding last year’s numbers, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has reached a significant milestone in property tax collection via the early bird program. In contrast to the previous year, when it earned Rs 831 crore, it collected over Rs 870 crore this year.

Over 7.5 lakh people paid property taxes under the program, which ended on April 30, according to GHMC authorities. The GHMC web site, Citizen Service Centers, MeeSeva centers, and bill collectors were among the several platforms that the taxpayers used to make the payments.

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan praised the taxpayers for their cooperation and acknowledged the work of the tax inspectors, bill collectors, assistant municipal commissioners, deputy commissioners, and zonal commissioners.

The program gives a 5% refund on current year taxes paid by April 30th for the fiscal year 2025–2026. Previous year arrears are not eligible for the rebate.
