Char Dham Yatra 2025: Travel route, necessary documents and complete information about stay

News India Live, Digital Desk: Chardham Yatra 2025 starts from 30 April. Last year, about 48 lakh devotees traveled, while more than 50 lakh passengers are expected to arrive this year. If you also want to be a part of this holy journey, then you should have complete knowledge of travel preparation, registration, necessary documents and stay arrangements etc.


Start dates of Char Dham Yatra



  • Yamunotri and Gangotri: April 30, 10:30 am

  • Kedarnath: May 2, 7 am

  • Badrinath: 4 May


Char Dham Yatra Route Map


The journey usually begins with Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun.


1. Yamunotri Yatra: Haridwar → Rishikesh → Barkot → Janaki Chatti → Yamunotri


2. Gangotri Yatra: Yamunotri → Uttarkashi → Harsil → Gangotri


3. Kedarnath Yatra: Gangotri → Ghansali → Agastyamuni → Guptkashi → Kedarnath


4. Badrinath Yatra: Kedarnath → Chamoli Gopeshwar → Govind Ghat → Badrinath → Joshimath → Rishikesh → Haridwar


Required documents



  • Aadhar card

  • PAN card

  • Torch, water, food arrangements and warm clothes during the journey


Registration process



  • Online: From the official website of Chardham Yatra

  • Offline: From the offices of Haridwar or Rishikesh


Helicopter facility


Helicopter service is available for Char Dham, whose information will be available on the online official website.


Temple opening and closing time



  • Yamunotri and Gangotri: 6:15 am to 9:30 pm (closed from 12 to 2 pm)

  • Kedarnath: 4 to 9 pm (closed from 3 to 5 pm)

  • Badrinath: 4:30 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm


Stay arrangement


Hotel and camping facilities are available at places like Guptkashi, Barkot, Devprayag, Joshimath, Badrinath, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag etc. It would be better to make pre -booking during the journey as the crowd is high in the journey.
