Vanilla strawberry cake recipe

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

For the Sponge Cake:

• 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour


• 1 cup granulated sugar


• ½ cup butter


• 3 eggs


• ½ cup milk


• 1 ½ tsp baking powder


• 1 tsp vanilla extract


• A pinch of salt

For the Whipped Cream Frosting:

• 2 cups heavy whipping cream


• 3 tbsp powdered sugar


• ½ tsp vanilla essence

For the Filling & Decoration:

• 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)


• Whole strawberries for garnish


• Mint leaves or edible flowers

Steps to prepare at home:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease the two 8-inch round cake pans.


2. In a bowl, add cream, butter and sugar to fluff it together.


3. Now add eggs, one at a time, along with vanilla extract and mix well.


4. Sift flour, baking powder and salt along with milk to mix it well and smooth.


5. Divide the batter into two pans and bake for 30 minutes, until the toothpick comes out clean.


6. Let the cakes cool down in the pan for 10 minutes and remove gently.


7. Beat the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla. Keep it chilled.


8. Place one cake layer on a plate. Spread whipped cream and sliced strawberries on top.


9. Place the second cake layer over it.


10. Cover the entire cake carefully with whipped cream and create a texture or pattern of your choice.


11. Top with whole strawberries, mint leaves and edible flowers for decoration.
